Action 4 Justice is a project supported by individuals and a consortium of non-governmental organisations who fight poverty injustice, and rights abuses throughout the world. Together, we recognise and promote public interest litigation as an essential strategic tool in this global struggle.
Oxfam’s vision is a just world without poverty. We want a world where people are valued and treated equally, enjoy their rights as full citizens, and can influence decisions affecting their lives.
Our purpose is to help create lasting solutions to the injustice of poverty. We are part of a global movement for change, empowering people to create a future that is secure, just, and free from poverty.
We use a combination of rights-based sustainable development programs, public education, campaigns, advocacy, and humanitarian assistance in disasters and conflicts.
We challenge the structural causes of the injustice of poverty, and work with allies and partners locally and globally.
The Public Interest Law Clinic (PILAC) was established at the School of Law, Makerere University in January 2012, becoming the first clinic established at a university in Uganda. PILAC seeks to promote a hands-on experiential learning as well as exposing students to ‘live’ cases of individuals who have been confronted by the law in its varied manifestations. PILAC has established a Clinical Legal Education (CLE) programme, which is a hands-on learning programme intended to equip law students with public interest lawyering skills.

NULAI is a non-governmental, non-profit and non-political organization committed to promoting clinical legal education, legal education reform, legal aid and access to justice. NULAI works to promote and sustain the development of clinical legal education, reform of legal education and enhance legal aid and access to justice.
Forest Peoples Programme is a human rights organisation working with forest peoples across the globe to secure their rights to their lands and their livelihoods. Through advocacy, practical projects and capacity building, the FPP support forest peoples to deal directly with the outside powers that shape their lands, lives and futures, envisioning a day when forests are owned and controlled by the people within them, ensuring sustainable livelihoods, equity and well-being for future generations.
